I was born in Turkey on 4th February, 1957. In 1973 I came to Germany for the first time with an international youth-exchange. At the end of 1977 I moved to Marburg to study politics and sociology. After I had passed my exams in Hamburg in 1984, I decided to live in Germany.
Till 1994, as a participant or group-leader I joined lots of workcamps and youth holidays in European and other countries. Though I have retreated from active youth-work because of my age, I am still engaged honorarily.
Since 1988 I have worked as an advisor for migrants at AWO-Bremen, have been a member of the committee since 1993 and have worked for the committee since 2005.
